2 Cancelled flights, 3 flight delays, 2 long trips...
I am home. I am alive. I am recouping.
-------
There have been a few questions about what I do...let me explain it this way.
I earn my living by schmoozing and negotiating with mid level bankers across the country. If I am successful in convincing them that my company is good and that my check won't bounce (okay, it really is a wire, but you get the picture), they just might sell me some of their receivables.
-------
I was concerned about going to South Carolina. Not gonna lie, it does not have the best reputation...but Charleston is one of the coolest cities I have ever been. I can't wait to go there again, but probably not during the summer.
-------
I did zero in Atlanta. I arrived Thursday, went to dinner, slept, went to meetings and went back to the airport. Unfortunately, those type of trips do happen more than I like.
-------
On the flight from Charleston to Atlanta, I sat next to a very nice, chatty young lady. I mentioned Claire a number of times during our conversation, but it was not until I told her about moving across the country to chase her down that she suddenly shut up. Yes, it was that abrupt.
-------
No, I am not usually a talker on planes. I usually put on my Bose Headphones and read.

So she was hitting on you? I always say , "you don't have to go to the party but it is nice to be invited."
Is Charleston in the running for a golf trip (only driven through on way to Hilton Head trip a few years back)?
And... hmm, Bogart, do you have a getting-hit-on-while-flying story?
Glad to see that you are back home safe and sound. My husband tends to travel for work too. He tries to convince people that his company is the best one to build their product (they are an engineering and manufacturing company). He was in North Carolina last week. Tried to surprise me by catching an early flight home, but got stuck sitting on the tarmac for hours. I give him HUGE points for trying though!

Quite a journey you've got behind you now. The abrupt shut down of your plane pursuer made me laugh, and so did William's theory. I heartily agree!
Glad you got home safe and single to Claire.
I am (was) a huge talker on airplanes...mainly because I think I get really nervous and conversing with whomever is seated nearby takes my mind off of crashing and burning in the wreckage!
Maybe she was just nervous? :)
The Maid
PS - Or maybe she was desperate...not that you aren't Bogart and all, but who really tries to pick someone up on a plane when chances are you aren't even going to the same place????
Too funny.
You read and listen to tunes? You are a multitasker of the nth degree.
I'm not a talker on planes either. I am too busy praying and studying the faces of the flight crew. I figure if they start looking worried then I know it's time to panic. If I'm not doing that I'm sleeping off my pre-flight help me get on the plane cocktails. :)
wow you seriously are a jetsetter, haha. you put me to shame.
Wow, that is a lot of traveling! I'm sure you're happy to be home.
I Charleston as well. I'd like to go back one day.
Totally shut down after mentioning the commitment to the girlfriend -- love it!
I love meeting people on planes, though I try to be respectful if they're not into having a conversation.
However, if you're ever seated next to a cute redhead, it may be me and I'll expect you to chat. And I promise I won't turn into an ice queen when you mention Claire.
What, like you've never BOILED NIPPLES BEFORE?
Hallie
