Is 8 Hours of TV Too Much?

We have decided that pretty much all festivals are the same. Claire and I went to a local "Oceanfest" on Friday night and, while it was a fun little time, it was no different than any of the other 150 festivals we have gone to over the past few months. We often are even seeing the same food vendors and nick-nack sellers.

Anyone watching the Olympics? The volleyball coverage has been great. I am really enjoying that...but were you awake enough last night to watch the 4x100 relay last night?

If you have not seen it yet, I won't spoil it, but I was yelling at the TV at 11:30 last night, pointing, hollering and rooting.

I love the Olympics!

Speaking of the Olympics, if you have not had a chance to check out the opening ceremony's, you need to find video of it...pretty much any of it.

I am not usually one for all the pomp and circumstance that goes on at those things, but this Friday's ceremony was awesome. Simply awesome.

Went to a surprise 40th birthday party for a friend of ours on Saturday night. Claire and I had a very good time celebrating with the birthday boy and 80 of his closest friends.
To say the surprise went off without a hitch would be an understatement. He had no idea that after a day of golf with his buddies, that the dinner and drinks that were to follow were going to include so many of his family and friends. How could he not know it was coming?

For one thing, his birthday is in the middle of November. Having the party a couple of months early usually helps in completing a successful surprise!

Didn't see all of the opening cermeony but did see that huge globe looking thing that popped up out of the ground. Eventhough they were harnassed onto it, those people were still freakin amazing! They were flipping all over it!

And yes, saw the relay... :)

The opening ceremony was amazing!! I haven't been watching volleyball, but the gymnastics and swimming has been great so far. We have it tvo-ing while at work, my roommates and I. :)

I've watched bits and pieces of the Olympic coverage, and hope to catch more of the women's gymnastic events since there's a local girl in the spotlight. I missed opening ceremonies because we were out Friday night, but I've been seeing so much written about how amazing they were, so I hope to hunt some coverage down soon.

Our "fall festival" this year is next weekend, which, in my mind, is technically still summer.

I did see most of the Opening Ceremonies and I was quite impressed. They did a wonderful job choreographing the event!

I have also been watching a lot of the sporting events too. Mostly swimming and gymnastics though.

I had a friend who qualified for the Olympic Trials in Boston for the marathon. She didn't make the final cut, but she still ran the marathon in a little over 2 1/2 hours!!!!

Did you hear Bob Costas making jokes about some of the countries?

What a jerk.

I am an olympics junkie and have gotten the girls into watching too. We are big fans of swimming, gymnastics, diving and beach volleyball. I've had to do major deleting on my dvr so that I don't run out of space with the coverage!

I've only seen the last few secs of the 4x100 and am sorry I missed it live!

The Olympic coverage caused my DVR to miss recording the last 45 minutes of Sunday's Big Brother.
What the hell!!!

Hello! Well, as you read, I am kind of OBSESSED with the Olympics. Why? Because I enjoy sports, but mainly because I have NOTHING else to do.
