Flowers Abound

Claire and I like to be members of things...we joined the Zoo a while back and earlier this month we joined the Norfolk Botanical Gardens.

I always thought of botanical gardens as sort of a large green house with lots of plants.

The Norfolk Gardens however, are not that...they are frigg'n huge with over 12 miles of trails and crazy plants throughout. There is a river than runs through it, big enough to kayak down.

Claire and I had such a good time checking it out. Here are some shots...

Memberships to those types of local attractions are so worth the initial expense when you know they make a nice little afternoon get away. The zoo has been a life saver for us some days!

Being an urban girl, I've grown to really love green spaces. Urban or country, it's amazing what grows from the ground!

There is something spiritual about gardens/flowers. We have Longwood Gardens near us (fabulous).
