It is quiet here. Very quiet.
I have had company since November 20th and now that everyone has gone home, it is quiet.
I loved the visitors (Claire's parents and my buddy Teddy) and had a wonderful time so it is strange to be back home alone.
-----
Bird day was wonderful! We ate some toast and had some coffee to start the day, then off to our 5k Turkey Trot. While it was not the best organized race I have been to, we had fun and all 3 of us (Teddy, Claire and me) put up our best times.
We headed home and ate another breakfast...this time it was quiche. Well, I don't want to call it quiche because Real Men Don't Eat Quiche, so I will say we ate an egg and sausage dish.
We rested from our eating and began to eat again.
A turkey, a spiral cut ham, green been casserole, Yifties, garlic mashed potatoes, pumpkin bread pudding, pumpkin creme brulee, homemade egg-nog, buttermilk biscuits, sausage/cheese biscuit bites, wine, Irish whisky and milk were all consumed at some point.

Claire and I were able to reserve the house we are going to get married in. 11 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, 3 stories...the kitchen has 2 fridges, 2 ovens, 2 stoves, 2 dishwashers and more counter space than I know what to do with.
It also has ping-pong, pool, flat screens in almost every room, a spa and basketball hoop.
Did I mention it is on the sand at the beach?

Better bring your A-game Nashville?!?...I will not be beaten at Ping-Pong!!!

Claire and I are looking forward to a little bit of downtime, but we are worried that there won't
be much of it...why you ask? Well, here is what the calendar looks like over the next 6 weeks...
This weekend, Claire flies to Denver for 3 days. We have 16 miles to run on Saturday morning before her lunchtime flight.
The following weekend, Claire has her Navy Reserve Drill weekend and we need to squeeze in an 18 mile run.
The weekend of the 20th brings us to Vegas for my family's annual trip and a 20-mile run.
We have Christmas weekend open...we are even thinking of just going to the movies on Christmas day and seeing 3 or 4 flicks.
New Year's weekend we are driving up to Philadelphia for some sight seeing.
The weekend after that, we have a marathon and 1/2.
The weekend after that, we are chaperoning a high school ski trip for my volleyball girls.
Whew...did I mention we have wedding planning to do? And that we are getting married on February 28?
We still don't have a caterer...we have not ordered invites...and we have not put together the music that we are going to be playing all night.
So little to do, so much time....wait, reverse that...so much to do, so little time.

Great house!
Your schedule sounds like mine, but I love being that busy. Too much time on my hands makes me crazy...and makes me spend too much money! Ha!
Keep up with your training - it sounds like you are really on top of it- that's awesome!
Glad to here T-day went well for you, Claire, and the one you call Teddy. House looks like its going to be a blast! Volleyball you'll kill me at nowadays... 'course, I am pregnant (grin), BUT this just in -- you're not getting a free pity win at Pong for anything.
holy crap...that is a lot to do!!
you are getting married on my son's birthday :)
Do you know how quickly that time is going to fly by!? Especially with your calendar so full with fun stuff?! You better rig up a clipboard and a pencil to wear around your waist as you run so you can jot your ideas down as you go!
You're coaching V-Ball... Rock on Yo!

I love to plan weddings! I will gladly help in any way that I can...except for the running part. My knees would hate me!

You two are busy people...and Claire's military ties explain her endurance for running--I don't feel so bad about myself anymore.
And I just saw The Deer Hunter the other night, so I felt really guilty LOLing at your 'Nam comment. Darn you for awakening my conscience...
Delurking... what is/are Yifties? A google search just lead me back to you.
