Go To Your Room, Richard Blais

So many of you were horrified by what I ate in New Orleans a week ago. I am surprised. I thought y'all would have embraced the adventure of trying new things.

I think you should go to your room and think about what you said. If you want to be an adult and learn that life has more to offer than cheeseburgers and tacos, the you need to be willing to try new things. Don't come out of your room until your attitude changes, Little Mr/Miss thing.

-----

To complete the culinary escapade through New Orleans, Claire's Mom, J in L-Towne, and I went and saw the Top Chef Road Show. It was a lot of fun.

We got to meet Richard Blais (who has been my favorite chef on the two seasons I have watched) and Radhika (who was not so much my favorite) and we got to try some food:

Black Sesame Cake with Fois Gras Ice Cream. You can read a review here.

It was interesting. Something I am glad I tried. Savory Ice Cream is a unique treat.

I am going to see Bruce Springsteen this weekend. It will be my first time seeing the Boss.
I don't consider myself a big fan, but I had the opportunity to see him and I figured why not!?!

I might be inclined to try that ice cream he made. Anything with the words 'ice' or 'cream' attached to it gets my attention!

Enjoy the concert. I've heard he definitely gives you your monies worth.

Everytime Richard Blais was on the screen in top Chef I would yell out "Just Blais!" I was by myself.

Oh Bogart, you have not LIVED until you have seen Bruce in concert...Honestly, boy, in some ways it is a religious experience!

Enjoy the concert, and do me a huge favor. Yell out a couple of "Bruuuuuuuuuuce" chants(sounds a lot like booooooo to those who have never been to a Bruce concert) for me and my brother, Rob. He was a total, absolutely dedicated Springsteen fan before he died last year. I could tell you stories...

You will not be disappointed. I wish I could go!

Hugs,
Debbie

I will eat smashed bugs when I'm on another continent, living among the natives in grass huts or slums.

In the meantime, yes, I will eat tacos and cheeseburgers. It's what our forefathers fought for.

but I applaud you from afar, let me make that clear.

When I first read your title I thought you were telling Richard Blais to go to his room. I get it now.

OK, let me say I think that is the coolest thing! I am jealous. Top Chef Road Show. I need to see if they make a stop near Philly!

We love Top Chef! Sounds like fun.

And, The Boss, too. I "like" him but am not a huge fan, but he'd be someone I would like to see while I can. There are some acts that are just really historical and you should see them at least once in your life.
